Roosters on the Floor

To all those who complimented my former template , I want to say THANK YOU.. I have it saved in case I change my mind again, but I missed my big pictures  and the only way I can have them is to use the minama stretch..

Roosters on the Floor
Roosters on the Floor
Whatcha doin' there with them
Roosters on the Floor..
::if your wondering why I typed that~google the utube song, Pants on the Ground:: but I'm warning you that song will be stuck in your head for days..

I wanted to show ya'll one of my newest Favorites.. I know I should wait till the other two arrive and are down so I could show those too but I have no patience and I would have missed Laurie’s Favorite Things Saturday.   Please go visit her and see all the folks who have also linked to her Saturdays Favorites Party...
I'm adding myself to  the Sunday Party hosted by Chari at
Happy to Design

Heres Mr. RooDreams a little closer.
I put this rug out in the family room where I have a few of my roosters displayed on a table.

I have 2 more rooster rugs on the way.:) One for my kitchen and one for the breakfast area~ or am I supposed to call that the morning room? I get so confuzzled with which room to call what , lol.. I don't know how it works at everyone else's home but here's its morning in all the rooms at once. I've tried to get up real early and catch one of the rooms grabbing Morning before the others, so I know which one the morning room is~ but alas its just too dang quick for me and all the rooms get morning in a blink.. sneaky aint they... rolf
I'm just teasin, I know its where one spends their morning but the name Morning Room makes me giggle anyway...
Maybe someone will have a Rooster Party soon and I can get all my roosters on the same post...I'd do it but I am uncertain how to use mr. linky..

Ya Gotta have Friends

National GirlFriend Week
Life is too short to wake up with regrets.
So love the people who treat you right.
Love the ones who don't just because you can.
Believe everything happens for a reason.
If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.
If it changes your life, let it.
Kiss slowly.
Forgive quickly.
God never said life would be easy.

He just promised it would be worth it.

Girlfriend and Sister's Week
I am only as strong as the chocolate I eat,
the hair spray I use and
the friends I have.
To the cool women that have
touched my life.. Here's to you!

National Girlfriends Day

What would most of us do without our sisters, confidants and shopping, lunching, and traveling girls?
Let's celebrate each other for each other's sake!

TO MY GIRLFRIENDS!

You Are Appreciated.

GIVEAWAY WINNER~ CounterScape

I've been swamped with work so this little barscape was all I managed to get done this week.
As most of you know I am a Goodwill Junkie. I find so many great things there but Some of them are in rather garish colors. Not deterred though as Rustoleum is my friend :-)  I think we all know how to do this by now..
Wash your piece and allow to dry-- very light coats of spray paint , to avoid drips. I dont usually do a coat of poly unless a piece looks dull to me when I've finished.
I dont paint anything we'll eat off of, only decorative pieces like the basket, bunny, jar and the tall piece in the back.
While I dont have an exact amount I would guess that all these pieces including the paint would be about 23.00., which is probably what just the basket cost, new.. Did I say yet today, I LOVE GOODWILL.. well I'm sayin'  it now.
I'm linking up to Marty's party~ ya'll stop in there and see all the other folks who are participating.
You'll see so many beautiful vignettes and meet alot of great folks you might want to follow, to see the pretties they'll create next.. I know thats always a favorite part of my tuesday.

**********************************
and now on to the good part~! The winner of the $25.00 Target Gift Certificate and The French Stenciled Pillow is.....
Loui ~ Mountain Mermaid
Since I have no clue how to do the generator I just let me neighbor's husband pull a name out of the bag and call me to say who it was. I did'nt even stay there while he did it lol...
I'll try to email Loui and notify her, otherwise I hope she stops in and gets a great surprise when she sees her name..
Thank you to all who entered and hopefully we'll be doing another giveaway real soon. This was more fun for me than for ya'll..

Hugs and Happy Tuesday

Favorites Make Me Cry Happy Tears

I have been wanting to participate in Laurie's Saturday Favorites and this is my week~ woohooo.
You can go here~A Few of My Favorite Things~  to see links to the other folks who are also participating.. You'll be glad you did, as there are so many lovely photos and such great inspiration...

Each of my favorites have a little story to go with them to let you know why they are fav's of mine.

I went grocery shopping about a month ago and they had just started hanging plants outside for folks to buy.
I didnt cause I felt it was too early and the weather here in NC has been so odd this year, it caused me to worry about another deep frost or 3:-) So I shopped , got my groceries in the trunk and took my cart to the "put cart here" station... In the cart ahead of mine I saw a few sprigs of a plant. I guess they got caught in the rungs and the person left them there.. I picked them up and wrapped them in a tissue, brought them home.. No , trust me, I DONT have a green thumb...There was a planter in the pantry with soil it in and I just unwrapped the sprigs and stuck them in. I figured if they lived , GREAT and if not, they were free so nothing lost...
A little watering as I was on my way to fill the furbabies bowl and thats all..
Here she is only a month later... I brought it out to my desk to remind me of what a miracle nature is and that when something has the will to live and thrive, it does, with very little help from mankind. Once abandoned, left wilting in the bottom of a grocery cart and now~ this.... I look at her and well up with happy Tears, and think- somebody up there likes me...
I got the pineapples lamp from Wally World~16.95.. Its heavy and they say pineapples are a sign of Welcome...
Here's another mirror I made. Mirror Magic mastic and some detail trim. I havent had time to make the grids yet but I will..
In my last post I was talking about my daughter and I not being able to agree on the large sofa table arrangement. She won with her LESS IS MORE idea, so I just moved my roosters over to the side table and added my new Hearth Plate I got for 50 cents at goodwill.  We are both very happy with our arrangements and peace reigns again in the House of Dreams.. giggle
I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my favorites and again , please stop by and see Laurie and all the nice folks who are linked to her party ~

Tabletop 2 Ways & GIVEAWAY

Its odd when Mom and Daughter like different styles.. Most of the time thats not the case but this time we just could'nt agree so I did 2 tops on the same table.. Feel free to say your favorite in your comment.. It wont hurt either of our feelings.. I do like the more zen like table but it still needs Something .. maybe a couple of red candles in front of the plants would make me happier:-)
I'll post MY top first since I'm the one doing the blogging lol

and HER'S  ~ ok I can admit it has a cleaner leaner look, which I guess is OK, for a little while.

I built my faux window out of the 12x12 mirror tiles you can get at lowes or home depot and some trim molding. Cutting the 1x1's down to make the grids was the hardest part but by golly I " GOT "ER DONE".
it reflects a lot of the family room , kitchen and dining, depending on where you are in those other rooms and really brightened the whole space as well as making a real statement.  Its usually the thing folks comment on when they first come in so apparently I Did Good , lol..
Be sure to go to Marty's blog and see all the great scapes folks have linked to her Party..

Anita's Bed ~n~ Bath Transformation

A lovely lady, Anita, has redone her bedroom and graciously agreed to allow me to feature it here. She and her husband actually did the work themselves, including the total stripping , staining and polying her new furniture.. I asked her to do her own write up on this as I cant tell it to you nearly as well so here it is in her own words...
***************************************
Thank you to all these lovely ladies for hosting parties for us..
I’m linking to::
:::: some parties do not begin until after 9 pm on Sunday evening::::

My husband and I just spent the last six months as home renovation weekend warriors, and this is the result! Our 1970s master bath was still wearing its 1980s décor and it was overdue for a change! The bedroom, on the other hand, has been through too many incarnations to count because I’ve had a hard time getting it just right.
While hubby tackled the bathroom demo, I searched craigs list for new bedroom furniture. The number one criteria was that it had to be solid wood (no particle board), and that was a surprisingly hard criteria to meet. After months of searching, I finally found a high quality Lexington Furniture set which I loved all but the whitewashed finish. Through pure luck, I found a matching king headboard in the finish I wanted, so I decided the set was meant to be. I bravely decided I could refinish it. Well, I could, and I did, but it took four months! Stripping the old finish was by far the most time consuming part. I used Citrastrip and a lot of elbow grease. I mixed my own stain color, using three different colors of gel stain, and gave it four coats of that. Next came four coats of satin polyurethane, starting with brush-on and finishing with wipe-on for a smooth finish. It looks pretty good if you don’t examine it with a flashlight and magnifying glass!
I found the armoire, chair, rug, and lamps (solid brass Stiffels) on craigs list, too, and all the art on eBay. The only things I purchased new were the bedding, drapes, and mirrors (and a few little accessories). I used ORB spray paint on baskets and picture frames that I already owned to tie them all together.
As I plugged away on stripping furniture, hubby got busy on construction. After we both spent a weekend stripping wallpaper, he removed the shelves and furdown from the wall behind the bed (which I had installed myself years before incidentally), and totally gutted the bathroom down to the studs, except for the tub and tile surround. He reconfigured the back wall of the bath (bringing it in to cover plumbing issues behind the sink) and relocated the linen closet from the back wall to the side wall opposite the tub, building the new cabinets completely from scratch. He also removed the popcorn from the bathroom ceiling and installed crown molding to both rooms. I painted the bath and dressing area with Sherwin Williams “Portabello” and the bedroom with SW “Nomadic Desert.” Although we did most of the work ourselves, we hired a few things done along the way.
All our hard work has paid off with a beautiful new master suite, and I’m so thrilled that Sonny asked to feature it in her blog! I hope you all enjoy looking at it!
 *****************************************
Here are the before- during and after photos.... absolutely Amazing~!!!

I think you'll all agree all their hard word was well worth it to have made such a miraculous transformation.
I plan to send her the link so she'll be able to see all your comments. She surely deserves every bit of praise we can all give her. She certainly has my admiration.
Thanks so much for visiting and allowing me to show you Anita's bedroom redo...
Have a Happy Monday~!
