Easter in Black, White and Sage Green

I thought since there had been so many pastel tables and scapes done, I'd go in a slightly different direction.
The bunnies and birds dont seem to mind and Tommy said it looks great , so thats enough for me. I do of course hope you enjoy it too..
I rescued the bigger bunny from the evil clutches of goodwill. He was rainbow colored and not very well ,I might add.  A little white spray paint was all it took to bring him back to bunny beauty.
I'm participating in Marty’s Tabletop Tuesday at A Stroll Thru Life.
Be sure to click on her link and go see all the lovely, creative folks who have
also linked to this party.

Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps On The Porch

I am not the greatest at dying eggs but I think I got these fairly close to sage green, and YES I did make Tommy eat them even though he made a face. Shame on you Tommy.. :-)
I looked everywhere for white and black napkins and could'nt find any that suited me.  Then I walk into my favorite thrift shop and there they were , Waverly~ Garden Club napkins.. I was thrilled..  There's another rescue bunny peeking out from behind the flowers.
Don't ya love those little birdies, I do.. I never cease to be amazed at what I can find at the newest Everything's A Dollar store..  They are heavy, not sure what they're made of.. I want to go back and get a second set and paint them in ORB.. I don't think I can have too many birds, do you?
This tiny fella had to have his own polka dot bow.  I just adore bunnies..
.I had to stand on a ladder to get this shot, but its OK, ya'll are worth risking life and limb for... :-)
Thank you all so much for coming to visit me. I wish each and everyone a wonderful Easter and just like at Christmas, lets take some time to remember the reason for this Easter Season..  The tulips are blooming in full force after the very cold and snowy winter we had and everywhere I look, renewal and life awakening is taking place..   Good Health, Happiness and Hope are what I wish for us all...
Be Blessed my Friends

Bunny Tea for Two

I'm working on my easter dining table for next week. Till then I thought I'd add a bunny or 3 to mine and Tommy's afternoon tea.  I need to take a moment to say how grateful I am for a tolerant, fun loving husband.
He's never once asked me why I need to play with displays or dishes or rearranging the home a gazillion times.
Maybe he appreciates the fact I do it on a serious budget..Still though , he just smiles and says how pretty everything is.  I am blessed and I just want to acknowledge that fact..

I'm joining in with Cindy at Show and Tell Friday. Click on her link to see all the lovely creations of other who have joined the party.  You'll love all the eye candy and creativity you'll find at their sites.

I'm also linking to The Vintage Easter Blog Hop on March 28th hosted by Joan at The Potting Shed - Anything Goes Here

I saw a basket with ribbon in one of the 100 advertisement sites that come through my email and just had to try it. Mine didnt turn out as pretty as theirs but its cute , so I'm happy. I found the small brown bunnies at the dollar store and couldnt reisist their cute faces. My pal Lori gave me a lap quilt for christmas, with purple and lavendar in it so I used it to cover the table. Thanks Lori~!
Lamp was a thrift store find for 2.00. Someone did great painting it and making that shade.
Theres a rooster under those donut holes that match the little plate , teacups and sausers .  Thats one of the perks of there only being the two of us. At goodwill or other thrift stores I find just a few pieces of what once ,must have been a whole set, but a few pieces are all we need and it keeps me from having to build on another room to store all those extra DISHES , lol....
Not sure we should eat those eggs.. I dotted them with a permanant felt tip marker- then boiled them in strong tea to get the color I wanted.  I didnt take photos of the mcdonald badgTommy brought in for our lunch:-)
I'm pretty sure everyone knows what that looks like.
These bunnies make me giggle. They were the perfect size to sit in that 50 cent basket from goodwill. I had the flowers in my stash so I only had to buy the roll of ribbon.  We always have a momma and baby bunnies in the backyard in late spring , but these will do until the real ones show up.I get such great joy out of watching the real bunnies hop across my yard and over to my neighbors. That's just proof about the little things in life bringing happiness.  I find as I get older it doesnt take as much to make me happy as it used to.
Bunnies, birdhouses and little rooster dishes, Oh My:)
Tommy and I had a wonderful chat at tea time as we looked out the patio door and discussed what we'd be doing in the backyard this year. We decided on 4 new trees and an azalea bed, on the patio door side of the house.  Lucky for me he loves digging, mulching and playing out in the yard. I have no doubt whatever he does will be a joy to behold and I will be very grateful all over again.
Thank you all so much for stopping in to see our tea time table. We love having you stop by for a visit.
Hopefully I'll get the Dining table done by tuesday. I wanted the light fixture changed by then but sometimes I cant get everything I want done, done:-)
I want to wish everyone a magnificent Friday and a wonderful weekend.
 See ya Tuesday~!!!
Have a "Sonny" Day

Treasured Finds & HELP TIPS for YOU~!

I want to make your wednesday and everyday Happier and easier to get through. So with that in mind, I have brought you these extremely helpful tips.:-)
I've personally tried no. 6 and its a real winner..
I will be trying no. 4 on my Daughter, lol   I'm thinking its a winner even before I try it..

THESE REALLY WORK!! I checked this out on Snopes and it's for real!
I know you'll want to try at least one of them,

1. AVOID CUTTING YOURSELF WHEN SLICING VEGETABLES BY GETTING SOMEONE ELSE TO HOLD THE VEGETABLES WHILE YOU CHOP.

2. AVOID ARGUMENTS WITH THE FEMALES ABOUT LIFTING THE TOILET SEAT BY USING THE SINK.

3. FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE SUFFERERS ~ SIMPLY CUT YOURSELF AND BLEED FOR A FEW MINUTES, THUS REDUCING THE PRESSURE ON YOUR VEINS. REMEMBER TO USE A TIMER.

4. A MOUSE TRAP PLACED ON TOP OF YOUR ALARM CLOCK WILL PREVENT YOU FROM ROLLING OVER AND GOING BACK TO SLEEP AFTER YOU HIT THE SNOOZE BUTTON.

5. IF YOU HAVE A BAD COUGH, TAKE A LARGE DOSE OF LAXATIVES. THEN YOU'LL BE AFRAID TO COUGH.

6. YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE.

IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40.
IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

7.. IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

8. If you try any of the above tips I am NOT responcible for the results.  I'm innocent I tell you, INNOCENT ~!

The plaque with the grapes was 50 cents. It looks like its supposed to be glazed on the white frame section but wasnt done too well.. any ideas??
Large candle jar 2.00 ~ splurged on that lol
small candle holder--very heavy for its size~25 cents
2 tiny tea pots  1.00 each=love them sooooooo much..

Yellow Thrifting Treasures

I went thrifting last week and founds some pretty treasure with yellow on them.
My favorite is the bunny topped dish. Sometimes it amazes me how I just find things at the time of year when they are most appropriate and needed.. I can just see Tommy's greek chicken salad in it. Its nice and heavy, so if I chill it in advance it'll keep everything nice and crisp, especially the marinated cucumbers. Makes my mouth water just to think about it.. I could'nt resist the cream and sugar set for only 50 cents. If nobodies looking I might use the cream pitcher for dressing and the sugar bowl for croutons,, but shhhhhhh dont tell , OK...
I made my own bunny plate since I didnt have one.. My neighbor let me use her printer. I cant eat off of it but it sure is PURDY, as we say in the south...
I'm participating in Mellow Yellow Monday. You'll find the Tag on my sidebar. Just click it to go and see all the other folks who joined in this weeks posts...
Is that one wild eyed bunny , or what... hahahahaha
played with the photos in my art program.. this looks so romantic.. Bunnies and Romance, do they go together? umm maybe :-)
Thought I might try a mosaic too..
Thanks so much for visiting me and coming to see my new treasures..
Happy Spring and please say a prayer for all of our fellow bloggers who are sick. We may only be in the internet but we're FAMILY..

Irish Afternoon Tea at Sonny's

Its still tuesday so I'm not to late.. I wanted to leave Lori's table up a couple days till I was sure everyone had seen it and she got a chance to see all your sweet comments.
I didnt do a table , just a little afternoon tea for Me and Tommy.  Men~! he walked straight in and asked me if I expected him to eat green cake. I said , no , ya dont have too .. I can take it next door:-) He likes to tease me almost better than he likes to eat, Almost..   I made some pistachio pudding too, cause the old boy like it and I like him, so...
I wish you all the Happiest of St Patty's Day.
Lets get on with this party , shall we...
My Green Thumb Gnome has arrived to bring a great harvest to my garden. He always arrives in early spring and sprinkles his magic around. Since he always helps me I thought it only right to invite him in for a snack..

Thank you all for coming by to see my Irish Afternoon Tea. I wish you were here to eat some of that cake.
I wish you and yours all the Blessings heaven allows and I hope we can all meet here again next St. Pattys Day..
Ps.. Kathys comment reminded me I forgot to give you the recipe for the St Patty Cake...so here it is::
chocolate cake mix of your choice- mixed according to directions.
chop up to a fine state 3 peppermint patty candy rounds- the large ones
add to cake mix and bake as package directs
cool and frost.. I used cream cheese icing lightly tinted with green food coloring.
those mints melted into the cake give it a really yummy flavor and moistness.
ENJOY

Lori's Table Of Ireland~Simply Divine~!

I feel so honored to post Lori's table on my blog. She is a wonderful friend of mine who has supported me in my blogging experience since I first mentioned I'd like to try it... I was able to show you her bedroom transformation a couple of months ago and it got great reviews. She is a hard working lady with 2 jobs and a family, yet she still finds time to make her table special for herself and guests. She used the colors in the Irish flag and foods that are a true Irish meal. Simple, elegant and authentic.. Doesnt get better than that, does it..
Lori doesnt have a blog so that means I am so LUCKY to be able to present her creativity to you.
I hope you'll enjoy viewing it as much as I did...
 (((Lori))) you did good girl~!
Many thanks to Susan for hosting the Meta Monday party @~be sure to go and see all the other talented folks who are also participating.. It tickles all of us bloggers to get visitors and comments,
and you will be sure to see some great eye candy and lots of terrific inspiration.

Cuisine Kathleen's St Patrick's Blog Crawl
Thank you Kathleen for hosting this St. Patty's day party.
Beautiful tulips, brown bread and irish stew..YUM . I sure wish I'd gotten to taste it. I can tell just by looking it was delicious... Love those placemats Lori used. I need to find out where she got those. I love those little bowls you used.. I believe I saw you say they were inherited from your dear mother in law, so of course that makes them extra special..
That book cover makes me want to book a trip to Ireland..
She found those amazing tulips at the grocery store. Only 8.00 for the bunch.. I want some ~!!
Cubed cheese and brown bread. I could easily make a meal out of that..  I like the napkins tied with bows, so sweet and homey looking.
Doesnt it look like you could sit right down and enjoy this meal.. It does to me and I hope someday I get a chance to visit her and do just that.. Thank you LORI for allowing me to post your pretty Irish table..
I cant say it enough about how much I appreciate your visit and your comments.. Looks like it might not be alot longer till I'll be doing a Giveaway and I know for a fact I'm way more excited about it than the winner will be , giggle... only 25 folks to go and whoppie, it'll be time..
Happy Monday to ((ALL))

Dreamin' in Shades of Yellow

I've noticed lately that while I dont go looking for it, I seem to come across and like Yellow.
Some yellow I am living with and other yellow I am still dreaming of as I havent yet decided to purchase.
So lets begin with my Dreamin' items...
This bedding keeps calling my name. I have a similar toile quilt in pale green, maybe I could just add some accessories. I'm participating in MYM, be sure to click on the link and see all the Yellow pretties others have posted..
Here is a pillow I have gone back to view about 50 times. Way over my budget but its beautiful and I keep trying to figure out a way to duplicate it..
I have these dishes and use them often in different seasons for my tablescapes .

I ordered these last thursday, so I am hoping by wednesday of this week, they'll arrive.

I think theres a pale yellow french tray on top of the fridge that I totally forget about but I can save it for next monday.
Thanks for visiting and coming along with me for my yellow Dreamin'
I'll let you know what I decide about the bedding and pillow.

Pretty Pears in Green

I found the cutest little container with pears on the lid at my favorite thrift store.  Then I went to get my groceries and what did I find? Yes, dishes and dessert cups. At that point I knew I had to put this table for two together.
I do have to tell ya'll that when you work at home, you often loose track of what day it is:-) or at least I do. So I didnt realize it was tuesday and time for marty's party till late this afternoon. So I quick put my table together
and I'm posting it in a few minutes and then I can spend tonight visiting all those who linked up to the party while I watch American Idol.. Sounds like a great night to me~!!

Table Top Tuesday...hosted by Marty over at A Stroll Thru Life.

I just love these new plates and I know they'll be used often at lunch time. They are just perfect for a salad and the cups will work well for mixed fruits.
Please visit Susan at Between Naps on the Porch
for a list of all the talented Tablescape Tuesday participants.
That lit candle doesnt show up very well , sheesh  .. Oh well its the thought that counts I guess..
I got my crocheted table shawl off ebay for 9.00 and I've used it on almost every table in the house.
Its one of those oh so cozy items that make me smile when I look at it.  I can crochet but not a fancy pattern like that..
Isn't that the cutest little pear container you ever saw.. I just love it..
My plant is so happy now thats its been moved to the window.. This table sure has been a joy to use since its arrival last week.
Thats it for this tuesday. Thanks again Marty for hosting the party . Looking forward to seeing all of your displays tonight... Your visit and your comments and YOU are much appreciated..
