Dang Good Thing I'm a Saver

   Hi..
 Did Ya'll think I got lost :)

I'm here and learning Windows 8 and now also teaching it to my Daughter.   Its kinda like the blind leading the blind, except luckily she doesnt have to have all the programs on her pc that I do, so I can already tell its gonna be a lot easier for her.

While I'm on this subject I just want to say Nortons antivirus and Firewall- that comes free as a 3 month trial WITH your Windows 8, is a royal pain in the patootie and I suggest you use AVG which is also compatible.  I am speaking from personal experience here and all opinions are strickly my own..

anyway-  why is it a good thing I'm thrifty and a major monthly saver:)  cause right at Christmas time I had to buy 2 , thats right  2 brand new computers since ours went Kafllooie~!

As soon as I get all this figured out -- all my programs loaded and functioning properly I'll get back to my decor posting..

In the mean time I'll be visiting ya'll and enjoying what you're doing..

 xoxo
Sonny

  5. Your not alone Sonny, we just bought a new computer a few months ago and I'm still learning and haven't even converted my blog over to it yet! I'm so afraid I'll hit the wrong button and lose everything LOL!

  8. Hi Sonny! Happy New Year and congrats on your new computer and your savvy skills. Isn't it fun to learn new things? Keeps the little gray cells active! I am about to get a new Mac. I used my old one so much I developed "kernal failure". Thank goodness my cousin is Mac savvy and can guide me through the techie stuff I don't understand so that I don't look and sound like a complete blonde airhead.

    Big Hugs,
    Susan and Bentley

  11. Oh, so sorry, Sonny. I've been there. Is it just me, or do you have a new look(your blog)? I am soo not observant so I could be totally wrong. If you do, I love it! If you don't , I love it still. Melinda

  13. Okay in June I'm going to have to buy a new anti-virus program and was thinking about going back to Norton. Hum??? What is AVG? Right now I use Cyber Defender and it is way too expensive. Is AVG expensive?
    Thank you in advance.

  14. winblows 8? Not fun! A friend needed to buy a new computer and only had Windows 8 as an option - bad news. I am one of those people who get around software easily - but not Windows 8. Although Norton is considered the best - i still find AVG more robust, ie better in all aspects.

  15. Hi Sonny,
So sorry you had to buy 2 at once, one is bad enough.......yea, I am dreading the day mine goes out cause I will have to learn that new programming stuff too.........I am just electronically challenged what can I say......so my heart goes out to you, and will pray you can get it all figured out. It seems like they just can't leave anything alone, they always have to be changing it....and from what I have seen not necessarily for the better either!! lol
Hope all is well with you and yours hon, Blessings, Nellie

  17. Learning one computer is tough, but two? I am so computer illiterate that it'd be a nightmare. I'm a Mac user, so I don't know anything about windows. Good luck and happy Monday!

  19. Hi, Sonny! I am sorry to hear you had to replace your computers. It is so hard to transfer everything and get used to the new systems. I have to tell you I really dislike the new windows 8. I guess I am old fashion and I don't do well with changes. My husband and I bough a new All-in-One over the holidays and after two days, we returned it. LOL I told you we don't do good with changes! Eventually we will have to learn the new system, but we are holding on as long as we can. Hope you are having a great week!

  24. Hi Dear Sonny
Was thinking about you earlier and then I found you on my site leaving a comment. You know I always love love hearing from you.
I guess I should not have wrote about the two women from the documentary Grey Gardens because someone left me a bad comment and made me feel like I was a bad person for writing the post. I really did not mean this to come off as being ugly.
Hope your having a good week.
    Love
    Maggie
