I bet ya'll are getting so tired of me concerning this room and I havent even done anything yet..
I keep having this nitemare about my rooms being empty with a small solitary table in the middle of each room with a lone pumpkin on each as a decoration. Needless to say that nitemare wakes me up in a cold sweat rolf....
seriously, I am making a tiny bit of progress. For instance, the tables tones have been decided.
white on the bottom with light touches of dark wax and walnut tops.. So I am in the process of painting a few pieces, then when I get them inside, I'll do the tops.
did I mention that Lone Pumpkin sitting on the FLOOR in each room.. YIKES, this could take me awhile.
I really really LOVE these pillows and the basket on the wall.. LOVE so I am on a hunt for as close as possible to this fabric. Daughter loves it too, so thats always a plus. dont like the ottoman they used so thats NOT gonna happen.. no iron lamps either.
I do LOVE the uncovered windows~! yes I know its a french door- but I just have a double window .. I will bulk up the moldings some and hopefully that'll get me the Look/Feel I'm going for.
Thanks for sticking with me through this process. I promise not to do this to ya'll again when we get to the dining room and family room. Those 2 were easier for me to decide on the Decor and fabrics. I'm not sure why I am having Decor Block in the living room..
If you have any suggestions, tips or tricks I am more than willing to hear them.. Your decor wisdom is always appreciated.
PS~ the rush seat bar stools arrived-- they didnt look good in my home. I am going to need stools with backs so those are being returned and the hunt is on for Bar Stools that will work..
I appreciate your visit. It means a lot to me.

It does take time, Sonny! I'm sure we all sometimes wish we could snap our fingers and it would be done. I know I felt that way when we were doing the flooring! You'll get there and you'll probably be happier with the outcome than if you rushed to get it done.
ReplyDeleteIt's a process, and it takes time, and like you found out, not everything works together.
ReplyDeleteI am rather enjoying this.

I think taking it slow and thinking things through is your best bet, Sonny. I love the ideas you have, it pays to be fussy. Hope you find the stools you have in mind!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Good luck with your decisions! It will be beautiful when you are through!
ReplyDeletehope you find some other type of barstools that will work! baby steps...always for me
ReplyDeleteLove the tables being white and dark tops. Looks sooooo pretty. I think the windows will be fabulous too with just heavy moldings. I have a basket on the wall in the family room and in the breakfast room, both with floral arrangements and I love that look. I think it would fit your style too. Hopefully you will find bar stools soon. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteSonny, take your time. These are pieces that you will live with for awhile. I think you have made some great choices, so far!
ReplyDeleteLoverly, Sonny! These are great pieces. Now I hate to differ with you, but my Daddy told me I was the best little kid ever! :)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
shelia ;)
Love the sofa and the tables with the stained tops! I can't wait to see it all done. It just takes time.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Donna
Hi Sonny,
ReplyDeleteI think you will have a beautiful room pulled together in no time at all. I like your inspiration pieces.
Still enjoying my wonderful Annie Sloan book. It's very inspiring.
hugs
Sissie
Isn't it funny how some things just seem to fall into place and other things you just can't "see" it all done? I can't wait to see your final result- so far/so good! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteLove all your ideas so far!!! You seem to be narrowing down your choices and figuring out what works and what doesn't.
ReplyDeleteI've been doing more decorating lately with this and that around the house, mostly working on the guest room when I feel an onset of creativity or energy. I'm still loving the burlap panels I sewed for the window and they are beautiful - and inexpensive. My camera is not working so I need to invest in another before I can share photos.
Looking good girl! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteHi Sonny, I tried emailing you but it came back to me as failed. I love your blog and love how you have your blog title under your header pics. Could you let me know how you did that or would you mind sharing who did it for you? Thanks bunches!!!

Dearest Sonny, so sorry for the mixup on names and numbers on my post. I had SONNY at 2805...someone caught it and said, "No, it's HONEY"...I changed it...then got your note this morning. I had already deleted the first email, telling me about the little pans...so, I couldn't ck... FINALLY, I hope it is correct. It just MUST have been a SENIOR THING. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the inspiration room...I like that ottoman and the lamp..but, what you come up with will be beautiful, I know.
xo bj
Thanks for the well wishes for Kathy's birthday. :)
ReplyDeleteYep, I really flubbed on that chandy post but it's ok...I do a LOT of flubbing in REAL life, too. :))
I couldn't be happier than I am with how great the little pie tins fit. I could have looked for months and not found anything better. You are a sweetie...:))
It's hard sometimes to make decisions about a room that so many people share. It needs to function a certain way and have the look that you want too. I usually find a style that I like and then go from there. Everything usually works as long as it has the style I'm aiming for. I'm liking the direction you're going in.
ReplyDeleteHow are you doing, Sonny? Thanks for popping in to see me and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I am really sorry that the bar stools didn't work out. The idea of light weight ones appealed to me a great deal. You're going to have a hard time finding stools with backs that don't weigh a ton. Oops, wait a minute. I forgot who I'm talking to. You WILL find just the right ones:)
ReplyDeleteHi Sonny,
ReplyDeleteI understand your decorating dilemma. I was sort of in the same boat when we were planning our kitchen. It sounds like you've chosen some pretty pieces; it will all come together sooner than you think. :)
I always appreciate your visits. It hope you do get a chance to visit Hendersonville; it really is a cute town. Have a wonderful holiday weekend!
