I saved these off the BHG site. They looked more like real gardens and outdoor sitting areas than some that you can tell are super staged just for looks. I can imagine one of these at any of our homes being a place to relax, enjoy company, sip tea or whatever beverage you prefer . I'd like to sit in several of them even in the colder months with a blanket - hot tea and a good book. I don't limit my outside sitting to just the spring and summer. Heck, I've been known to go out there and sit in the snow lol, or on a chilly fall nite and toast marsh mellows with the family and neighbors. I am so happy to be in a neighborhood where we all sorta match in how we are amused, entertained and enjoy spending time. We even all like country music .. Gotta love folks who listen to country music , right? Right:)

This is my favorite because it looks like my Nana's cabin thats 5 miles from Cherokee, NC. She even has an old iron pot . We used to use it to have chicken stews for everyone to enjoy from miles around. ahh the memories...:)

ReplyDeleteOh.........these pics make we want to be outside....at least, until I open my back door. It is so hot. I love to sit in the sun for a bit, but just can't seem to make myself go out there today, kinda humid along with the hot this last week, cause of rain, which is a good thing.

Oh, these all look amazing. I love to be outside. I sit outside all that I can. Right now it is 113 so I am inside. Hopefully the temps will lower soon. And, I like country music too. Hugs, Marty

ReplyDeleteGreat photos Sonny! I enjoy sitting on the screened porch well into fall and sometimes in the winter I love to sit on the front porch swing with a cup of hot tea and a wooly blanket all around me. It's my little place to watch the world go by.
ReplyDeleteI love all of these...the first one is my favorite. And yes, I sit outside all year round. Love sitting outside in the cool fall evenings with a fire roaring...in the winter during the day with a weak sunshine and a blanket.

This ole iron pot brings back memories when it was peanut pickin' time we would boil(in one of those iron pots) enough for everyone to enjoy.

Sonny- Those pictures are all just amazing. My gramma had an old kettle like that in her out shed and I don't know what ever happened to it. I honestly think she used to use it to heat her wash water for her clothes in it though.

Yes, I will take one of each please. :) My soul so yearns to have a garden like these, but until I can finally retire and have more free time, I am afraid it won't be. Your Nana had a cottage near Cherokee? We go up there at least twice a year. There is an apple orchard out towards Bryson, by this beautiful river, that we visit every Fall to bring back our apple supply. We take a picnic and eat by the river. Its one of the prettiest places in NC to me. Thanks for sharing these gorgeous garden pics. xxoo

ReplyDeleteThis brings back the most wonderful memories I have of sitting on my maternal grandparent's screened porch looking out at their amazing garden and watching birds. I held binoculars and A FIELD GUIDE TO THE BIRDS while Grandmother and Grandfather helped me identify the birds. Thank you Sonny:)
