Ya'll have been so patient waiting for me to get more of my new front yard done..
Last fall everything came out and there was Nothing, no trees, no scrubs I mean nothing- ewwww.
I still have lots to do and with normal life to deal with its going slowwwwwwwwwwwwww lol.

I still need to get the old tile off and the new tile on. Not sure I'm happy with the plants I choose for the garage door containers.. Its a Creation in Progress and I am loving it as we go along even though I already see changes I want to make.
New roof, new garage door, new plantings and a table I found at goodwill and painted.
I also need rocker cushions and a rug.. so much to do , so little time.
But, I'm making progress so I'll show ya where I am so far..
I keep thinking I need to change the name of my blog to Subject to Change .. LOL
I was so glad to get rid of that brown roof. I didnt like it the day it went on but I lived with it for 13 years.
New black roof, new garage door , new plantings and mulch. Now its just a case of wait for it all to mature a bit.
See those shrubs in the containers at the garage door. Not sure I'm happy with those.. Might have to move them somewhere else and try a trellis and some jasmine vine in the containers instead. Or maybe nothing and no containers would be best.. what do Ya'll think?? any suggestions are appreciated..
ps~ the roof doesnt look wonky like that in real life :-)
Thanks for stopping by to take a peek..
xoxo

Your porch is lovely...I bet you will so enjoy sitting in those rocking chairs with a nice glass of iced tea!

Love the look of everything. So beautiful. The porch is stunning with the rockers and table, so inviting. Love the landscaping also. Very, very pretty and super curb appeal. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI believe if we sat on that porch and visiting with each other, we would end up laughing a lot. It looks like a comforting place to be.
ReplyDeleteDoes the plant interfere with the garage door? It looks like it might. Otherwise it is lovely.
Looking good, Sonny! I remember hating the brown roof we had done at our old house. I also knew as soon as it went up that we should have gone with black, but what are you going to do at that point.
ReplyDeleteLooking good so far. I'm thinking the plant/shrub in the container near the garage doors is a little big for that area, but without seeing more of that area I couldn't give you a suggestion as to what to put there. You're off to a good start!

I love those rockers and the table is perfect! So pretty. The plants are looking wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHi! How are you? Loving the blog...It's so authentic, and I hear your voice so clearly. Regarding your work on your house, I'm so jealous!!! LOL! What a beautiful, peaceful Oasis (I guess Oasis is peaceful). I just can see myself sitting on your porch with a cup of Ginger tea meditating as the sun kiss my face for the day. Thanks for visiting Operation You!!
ReplyDeleteMorning Sonny,
ReplyDeleteLove how it is coming out. Your porch looks very cozy and would love to sit out there and rock and visit with you awhile! lol
Actually, I am thinking just some pretty flowers in those pots by your garage, to me it seems to need less height, since your focal point is your chairs and table, maybe some geraniums or impatiens are something like that. Course, you need a lot of shade for impatiens cause they can't take a lot of sun,
but geraniums can and of course, there are all sorts of other flowers as well.
The new black roof and garage door look great too. Any projects we do just take quite a bit of time...much longer than they used to, guess we don't move quite as quickly as we used to........lol
You take care and we enjoyed seeing how your are coming along, so enjoy sitting on that porch and rocking your lil heart out now...
blessings hon,
Nellie
Sonny, I love your transformation!
ReplyDeleteI adore your new garage door!!!!
And I think your container plants look great - nice height - I would keep em!
How nice a place to sit and rock and sip iced cold lemonade. Wish I could come for a visit to your porch and a nice chat with you!
WELL DONE!!
Looks like everything is coming along nicely! Love your porch! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteOh Sonny....it is looking so pretty....I know you must be thrilled. You did a great job!
ReplyDeleteSonny it is looking wonderful! You are doing a great job.
ReplyDeleteVery inviting! I had to get a brown roof because the brick is brown (I hate it), and if I paint the bricks I will still have the brown roof. I wish I could just move and start over! However the roof was done only two years ago, so I suppose I am stuck with it. Your black roof looks very smart,
ReplyDeleteYour porch looks beautiful.

ReplyDeleteYour porch is gorgeous and I love the white rockers. The first thing that came to my mind when I saw the photo was outdoor elegance.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to repaint my black porch rockers to white this year but didn't get around to it. Next year....
Hi darling, I'm presently doing the same thing. I hook a log chain around the trees and shrubs and then pull like crazy.. it's a lot of work but so worth it. Your curb appeal is wonderful. Love the rockers and your darling table... hugs ~lynne~
ReplyDeleteGreat porch progress, love the chairs and table. We are planning to work on our back deck this weekend.

Hi Sonny,
ReplyDeletegood to hear from you hon. Yea, I am kinda liking the beachy look myself these days. Bought a few small things and am wanting to rearrange the family room, and see if I can
incorporate them until Fall!
Was gonna start today but I forgot to have hubby move the exercise bike out of the middle of the family room.
Too heavy for me to move or it gets
my neck going.........thought about
working around it but would like to do some before and after shots.
So guess tomorrow will be the day!
Hope you are making some progress on your yard, things like that do take time tho.
Glad you enjoyed my tablescape, thanks for your comments.
Love and blessings hon,
Nellie

Your front porch is looking beautiful and so welcoming! Love what you've done.

I love your house with the new roof and I also love the shrubs by the new garage door. We painted our house, put on new shutters, got a new roof but couldn't swing the new garage door. Yours is really cute and exactly what I dream of. My husband found hardware to put on ours that made it a little more cottagy, but not perfect.
ReplyDeleteSonny, I love what you've done so far. Everything is perfection, especially those comfy rockers on the porch. Ahhh ... looks like home to me.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for linking, can't wait for the next installment!
Hugs,
Patti
