Staying in North Carolina

As many of you know we've been on a real roller coaster ride with this issue.   Its odd how life throws us a curve ball sometimes and we're force to truly decide where our priorities lie. What we Love, whats most important and what we cherish and are willing to make adjustments for.
If I tried to explain the hundreds of details involved in this situation it might case your head to spin on your shoulders like Linda Blair's did in the Exorsist .. hahahahahaha
Once all the lists of pro's and Con's were made and reviewed and reviewed another five thousand times, its really best for us to stay right where we are and enjoy every moment .. I could write a book about how many things we realized were important for us and to us..   I've actually been online looking for all the places in this state to see- that I havent seen.. I'm amazed at how many wonderful things I've missed.. Life gives us wake up calls and I hear this one loud an clear..
We'll be taking lots of day trips as time allows and I'll be bringing back photos for ya'll an stories to go with them.

here are a couple of sights on our list to visit in the next few months.
Old Salem-- my goodness, its only 11 miles from me but I havent been there in 20 years.
Later , when the weather is warmer more consistently- we'll go up near Cherokee and stay in a small motel right on the Pisgah River..
I love this place.  I wish you could all hear the rushing water.
I want to give my heartfelt thanks to all of you who have prayed for us and sent us good wishes... I' also like to thank those in the different states we had on our tranfer list for all their help an support..  I will not forget your kindness.. You all helped make this time in my life more bearable.. I Thank YOU~!!!
PS~ please continue to keep us on your Prayer Lists and in your Good Wishes as we have a curvy road yet ahead of us....

  9. Hi Sonny,
so glad to hear you are staying in North Carolina.
Yes, sometimes the Lord gives us a wake up call, and sometimes we really don't know or realize just how important some things are until we are asked to give them up. Sounds like yall got perspective, and that is a wonderful thing.
Miss hearing from you, but know you have had your plate full, but so glad things turned out the way you were hoping!
Does that mean hubby will have to find a new
job by any chance??? Hope not!!

    Blessings hon, Nellie

  10. My brother & his family live in Bryson City. It has become our "default" vacation spot. We love that area in ANY season and always find new things to see.

  11. If this is what you want, I am so thrilled for you, Sonny. Home is where your heart is and I know you could make a home anywhere...but sometimes, it's best to stay put. Perhaps, later, you will decide to move somewhere else.
I love your sweet positive attitude and know that you WILL enjoy WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED. :))

  12. Sonny, your news is terrific!!! I like having you in a neighboring state! One place that I really love in NC is Highland's! I felt I had a glimpse of heaven. Of course all the states have their own beauty! Glad it is working out for y'all.
