Tabletop 2 Ways & GIVEAWAY

Its odd when Mom and Daughter like different styles.. Most of the time thats not the case but this time we just could'nt agree so I did 2 tops on the same table.. Feel free to say your favorite in your comment.. It wont hurt either of our feelings.. I do like the more zen like table but it still needs Something .. maybe a couple of red candles in front of the plants would make me happier:-)
I'll post MY top first since I'm the one doing the blogging lol

and HER'S  ~ ok I can admit it has a cleaner leaner look, which I guess is OK, for a little while.

I built my faux window out of the 12x12 mirror tiles you can get at lowes or home depot and some trim molding. Cutting the 1x1's down to make the grids was the hardest part but by golly I " GOT "ER DONE".
it reflects a lot of the family room , kitchen and dining, depending on where you are in those other rooms and really brightened the whole space as well as making a real statement.  Its usually the thing folks comment on when they first come in so apparently I Did Good , lol..
Be sure to go to Marty's blog and see all the great scapes folks have linked to her Party..

  1. Oh...it is so hard to make a choice!! They are both lovely. I love the roosters and the plants and candles in your vignette...maybe it is because I lean toward lots of objects in my own. I LOVE the faux window you made...I thought it was real!! Nicely done, Sonny!

Your giveaway is awesome. I am so into pillows lately! Love it! I am a follower. Keep up the great blogging!

    xoxo

  2. If I was working with all your great "stuff" then I'd do the rooster scape. If my daughter was working with all your great "stuff" she'd make the zen, less fussy scape. Both are beautiful.

  3. Hi Sonny! I like the first table w/the chickens. Even though I'm not a chicken collector and would lean more toward the birds, I like how the first tabletop has more color and I like the candles too. But I really LOVE that mirror! I am very inspired! It is awesome! Great Job!

  4. Sonny, I truly like the table both ways. If you want some red added I think the box done in red or another red piece in the center would really look good. You made that mirror window?! You did a fantastic job!!

  5. Good morning Sonny!~ I love the first one, I like the colors, and I love roosters....with that being said, I like the simplicity as well on the second table top...so you can't go wrong, they are both spectacular!!~

  7. First of all, I LOVE your mirror window. It really is striking, what a fabulous idea. Since I am so into roosters, I drooled over your display. I love it all. The lamps, plants the plates and the small roosters as well. It is just gorgeous. I also appreciate your mom's. It is very pretty too. I love the box in the middle. Isn't it fun to have a space that you can change out so often and have such beautiful displays. Thanks so much for joining the party. Also, thanks for the lovely giveaway. I am a follower and would love to be entered. Hugs, Marty

  8. Well I like both to be honest. I love the details of your stuff and the colors but then I love the simplicity of your mom's. Be blessed. Cindy

  10. How very pretty! I'd say that I love the one you made cause I love roosters. Your mirror brought back memories! I made one many many years ago like that. I had painted mine in blue. I don't even know what happened to that mirror but I had it hanging in the kitchen in our previous house. I'm gonna have to look for it in our garage.

  11. I like them both, but love the roosters! I have a headstart on a similar tabletop; one of the rooster plates is sitting on top of my refrigerator! Thanks to you and your daughter for the beautiful inspirations!

  12. They are both beautiful, Sonny! If it wasn't for the fact that I'm not into roosters {now if you had bunnies going on I'd be swooning}, I am leaning toward your daughter's vignette. LOVE your faux window! I think it looks great. I don't know that I would have that patience to make something like that, but I love the outcome.

  13. Love the mirror! As for the vignettes, I really do like both of them and for different reasons. I love roosters and the colors you selected. I also love the birds and the simplicity of their setting. I would actually use both of them.

Thank you for the lovely giveaway. I am a follower and would love to be entered.

  14. I have to say first, that mirror window is awesome. You did a fantastic job. I really like both vignettes. If you make me choose, I guess I would pick yours, because it has more colors. Please count me in your giveaway, and I've been following for awhile. Thank you for your generosity. That's really sweet of you.

  15. I love that mirror!! I can see that it would reflect a lot of light. I like both tabletops--I never can make up my mind at my own house--sometimes I switch things and leave it for a day and then decide, nope...I can't live with that.....my house blog is at

  16. Hi Sonny,
I actually like them both, but I like yours the most because it has more color, the other one is very pretty and balanced but not enough color for me!! It goes more with that tuscan look I guess, but in spring I want light and pretty colors. Love love love your window with the mirrors that you made. Wonderful job!!

  24. Both are lovely but I do prefer yours, with the roosters. It is a very happy, cheerful top, and yes, your daughter's is very calming and zen like. I am a follwer too so am crossing my fingers!!! XO, Pinky

  26. I love the roosters. They are both nice though.

  27. I like color, so the first one is more appealing to me, but they both look great! I love the symmetry, and that mirror is stunning!

  28. I really do like both table settings. How nice to be able to have options like that. But what I do really love is your window mirror. Any chance of you posting instructions on how you made it? In friendship, Julie

  29. Well done. So glad I found your blog. I shall return.

  30. Such a good & smart job here. I can't choose either which coz both have their own characteristic that make them JUST FABULOUS...

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hmmm ... I like them both. But ... I think of your vignette with its beautiful warm reds and golds as more of a cool(fall)weather kind of look and your daughters as a cooler summery look for warm weather.

Some day when you have time, I'd love to see post where you talk more about that lovely mirror and how you made it, maybe with a few more close up shots of the detail work on your trim pieces

I've been a follower for a while now and your blog never fails to inspire me.

  32. Wow, I really thought it was a window! I love sofa tables. You can use them anywhere because of their shape. Have a great weekend and thanks I always like your comments on my blog too! Ottoman women unite!

  34. Hi Sonny...I can't help but sit here and giggle. My two daughters and I are gathered around the computer reading your blog. And just like you and your daughter...we have different opinions. I love your table top, while my daughters love your daughters table top. Maybe this is a generational thing. Either way they are both lovely. Have a great weekend.

    Blessings,
    Kimberlynn

  36. Well you can't go wrong with either one as they both are great. However, if I had to pick one I would go with the Rooster as I'm going through a Rooster love affair lately :)

  37. I love your table setting. It is just wonderful. I love your little dogies too. I am a new follower to your blog. I hope you have a chance to come say hi. Cheers, Lia

  38. Like them both but partial to the roosters. They bring color and a sophisticated kind of whimsy to the table and draw me in! Thanks also for the faux window idea. I have an interior windowless room that drives me crazy because it's so dark (great for naps, though!). This "window" is a perfect solution. Thanks to both you and your mom for sharing your visions (and for solving one of my problems).

  39. Sonny, both vingettes are so very pretty, but I am drawn more to yours. I love the roosters and it has more eye candy and warmth to me..

I would also love to have my name added to your giveaway... Thanks so much!

I am a follower of yours too!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  40. Hi Sonny...

I love both vignettes, my friend! Each has a different style and ambiance...love that! I am leaning toward the first vignette though...but then, I'm a "more is better" kind of gal! Hehe! Sonny, I am a fairly new follower to your blog but I have thoroughly enjoyed my visits! You are such a creative and talented lady...you and your beautiful home always inspire me! Thank you, my friend!!!

I just adore the pretty frenchy pillow! I have just the place to put it...should I be the lucky winner! Thank you, Darlin'!

  41. Hi Sonny~ I was wondering if the give-a-way was announced....firstly because I was working on my blog side bar and I have your widget right at the top and didn't know if it was still going on and secondly, because if you didn't, I still have a chance to win the amazing prize! :) Let me know if I need to keep the widget up still. Thanks and have a great day.
