Smocking~Ya Gotta see this

I am not the best Sewist on the planet but every once in awhile someone comes up with such a great and seemingly easy tutorial, with detailed photos, that I just had to share.. Let me say now, smocking is one of my favorite things and I will probably be using this to make baby dresses , first since thats a small project..
All the credit goes to the lady~Dorie~ who wrote this tutorial and I hope some of you can use it. Just too good not to share..  I see on the sidebar of her blog she has lots of other great tutorials, which i will be looking through when I get home this afternoon.. What a talented lady she is.. Is this bag too cute or what.

I'm linking to the Sunday's Favorite Party over at Chari's ~ http://happytodesign.blogspot.com/
Ya'll make sure to go there and see all the great links her other party folks have entered..

  15. I have seen other purses like that too, but yours is a little different but just as adorable no less. My daughter has one she bought that is black leather, that was the first one I had every seen. Then Kathy over at sweet up north mornings,
made a black and white print one. So cute too.
The style of hers was pretty much like my daughters. I just love them they are so precious.
I love smocking too! My old machine used to do it but not sure if my new one does or not. Course, it probably does. I will have to check it out now and see. You did a very nice job on your purse. Good going girlie!!
    Have a great week ahead,
    Blessings, Nellie

  18. Sonny, thanks for stopping by Applejack Lane. About the platter, I own a Hallmark store, and this platter was one that I rejected from the manufacturer about 7 years ago (CBK). I didn't think it was painted well. A it turns out, this must be the stlye of painting a lot of ceramics now. (It looks like some type of dirty wash over the top.) Come visit again!
