Red Rooster Plates

While I do love my black , white and apple green table scapes, sometimes I just feel the need to dine in Color and today I choose multiple color but with strong dashes of red. Its all the fault of the sweet rooster salad plates I found at Kmart.. Yes I said Kmart. somewhere I rarely look for things but after finding these I'll be checking there more often. set of 4 ~ 7.99, which I felt was a fair price. Micro and dishwasher safe , nice and sturdy with a good weight.. I wasnt expecting them to be of such nice quality but I am thrilled with them.

I found this scrap of fabric in my stash to use as a tablecloth. I tried using my black and white toile but it just wasnt working for me. Now next time Tommy, my darlin dh, asks me if I REALLY need all the fabric in my containers I can say with ferver, YES I DO, and then show him why..
I'm developing a real love for all  things Rooster.  I dont follow fads so when a few people told me roosters were on their way OUT , my answer was Good, take them OUT of your home and send them over to Mine:-)
Just a few views of the table and oh my goodness I almost for my new basket find from goodwill, 2.00 and now cherished by me..

SnickerCake~Sweets for the Sweet~!

I said last week when I posted my poppy seed cake that I'd try to get back with my husband's Snicker cake, this week..
He does most of the baking but even I can do this one, as its easy as pie- um I mean Cake:-)  I didnt actually have time to bake so I just made a cute tag for this recipe..
1...Choose any Chocolate cake mix- or your favorite from scratch chocolate cake. This can be done as  cupcakes but a sheet cake is really the best option-9x13.. Mix and bake according to directions.
2... While the cake is still warm~using a skewer:: we use a chop stick saved from when we had japanese food:: poke holes approx. every inch in the cake. Wiggle the skewer around gently, you want holes about the size of a no. 2 pencil.
3... Using a double boiler~melt 3 Snicker Bars and 1 tub of premade icing.. DO NOT BOIL, just melt, till pourable. Some of my friends who tried this said you could do this melting in the microwave, so if you;re familiar with doing such things that way, go ahead. He always uses the double boiler method.
4... Pour this on top of your cake very slowly or keeping it mixed, spoon over the cake. Try to make sure the chunkier parts of your icing are evenly distributed, so everyone gets some of the nuts and caramel from the snicker bars.. Allow to cool, cover and refridgerate for about an hour.
Thats it Folks~! Cant you just taste all that chocolate in different textures, Smooth , crunchy, caramely, lol
I hope you enjoy it as much as we do..
Thanks for stopping by...We always enjoy your company and your comments.

Too Cute Teapot

I had to work this afternoon, didnt get in till a short time ago and realized this was Marty's first Tabletop Tuesday. Have ya'll noticed its a syndrome of mine to always be in a rush and doing things I knew I wanted or needed to do at the last minute..
But I got lucky and had just found 2 new items for my dining table and what better way to show them off than at Marty's party...I've added her link to the bottom of this post so please be sure to go visit her and see all the great folks blogs who are also participating..

Its this teapot adorable or what?  I found it at goodwill a few weeks ago and for 5.00 I had to make it mine.
I've never seen another like it and it suits my green dinnerware perfectly.
I love my frenchy style fruit on the table cause it adds a little color to my black and white tablecloth and napkins.
Did you spy that bunny over in the right corner of the last photo..?
Lets take another peek at him.
There he is peeking out behind my glassware, wondering when he'll be getting his close up.. So I dont want to hurt his feelings and risk him feeling I dont love him as much as my new teapot  :-)
I said Him but maybe its a HER bunny.. I guess I should name her Gloria Swanson since I could clearly hear her say"" Yesssssssssssssss Mr. Demille, I'm ready for my close up""...
ok, for you younger folks that wont be as funny as the vision of Norma Desmond's demented face and fluttering lashes getting closer and closer to the camera  .. giggle
I am joining Susan for  Tablescape Thursday  at Between Naps on the Porch. Stop by her blog and see all the other folks who are participating.
